Assessment pathways typically take 2–4 weeks. Nationally recognised AQF qualifications are issued through partner RTOs and may support state trade licence applications.
Free & no obligation
Four quick questions is all it takes. No classroom study, no exams — just a clear, evidence-based read on your likely RPL pathway.
Is RPL right for you?
RPL is built for people who already have real skills, just not the formal paperwork to prove them.
Years on the tools, but no Certificate III or IV to show for it — RPL assesses what you can already do.
Skills gained outside Australia can be considered alongside local experience as part of your evidence.
Time in a related role, self-employment or informal learning can all form part of a genuine evidence portfolio.

Straight answers
RPL is evidence-based. Your exact pathway depends on your experience, documents and state licensing requirements.
Yes. Recognition of Prior Learning is a formal assessment pathway within Australia's vocational education system. Your qualification must be issued by an ASQA-registered RTO and you must still meet the separate requirements of your relevant state licensing authority.
Evidence can include job-site photos, client or employer references, invoices, contracts, overseas qualifications, work samples and competency conversations. An assessor considers the overall evidence available rather than relying on one document type.
An AQF certificate confirms your nationally recognised qualification. A trade licence is granted separately by your state regulator. The qualification may form part of your licence application, but it does not automatically guarantee a licence.
